​Israeli occupation authorities decided to impose a week-long comprehensive closure on the occupied West Bank and seal all regional border crossings starting Sunday through next Saturday, October 3, citing the Jewish holiday of Sukkot.
​According to the Palestinian News and Information Agency (WAFA), Israeli forces regularly utilize religious holidays to impose restrictions on the Palestinian population, coinciding with broader violations including military blockades, heightened checkpoint restrictions, obstructed access to holy sites, and ongoing Israeli settler violence.
​In parallel, Israeli occupation forces intensified military measures across the perimeter of Ramallah and Al-Bireh on Sunday morning, shutting down several key roads and town entrances.
​Palestinian sources reported that military forces closed the iron gate at the entrance of Turmus Ayya, north of Ramallah, in both directions while subjecting local residents to harassment. Entrances to the towns of Aboud, Nabi Saleh, and Atara to the north, as well as Al-Taybeh to the east, were also sealed. Furthermore, military checkpoints were erected at the entrances of Yabrud and Ein Sinya, where soldiers searched vehicles and inspected civilian identification cards.
​Occupying forces also established an additional checkpoint at the entrance to the town of Jaba, severely disrupting civilian vehicle movement across the area.
