U.S. President Donald Trump told Axios on Sunday that he anticipates American negotiators will conduct further discussions with Iranian representatives this week.
"I am constantly considering resuming strikes against Iran," Trump stated.
Trump affirmed that the U.S. military is facilitating the transit of substantial crude oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, noting that the volume of oil navigating the waterway over the weekend represents the highest total recorded since the onset of hostilities.
The U.S. President specified that more than 20 million barrels of oil passed through the Strait of Hormuz during the weekend period.
Concurrently, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reaffirmed Tehran's position, emphasizing that the Iranian side remains as prepared to engage in diplomatic negotiations as it is to confront any potential aggression, even if circumstances escalate into a destructive war.
