Yemeni government forces announced the commencement of the battle for liberation, the restoration of state institutions, and the termination of the coup, according to a statement by the military spokesperson for the government forces.
The spokesperson stated that the battle serves as "a bridge to return our country to its Arab fold and strategic depth."
He commended the stance of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, noting that it serves Yemen's interests, and affirmed that government forces are advancing steadily toward the strongholds of "rebellious Houthi terrorism."
Earlier on Sunday, Chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi announced the start of military operations to reclaim remaining Yemeni territories and extend state authority and institutions across the entire national soil, emphasizing the transition from preparation to liberation after exhausting all opportunities for de-escalation.
"Based on our constitutional responsibility to safeguard the sovereignty of the Republic and its citizens, and pursuant to the decisions of the National Defense Council, and following the completion of necessary measures and precautions, I announce today the start of military operations to reclaim remaining territories of the Republic and extend state authority and institutions across all national soil," Al-Alimi stated in an address to the Yemeni people.
