Al-Ahliyya Amman University renewed its presence on the global map of knowledge as the ninth edition of the Stanford University ranking, published in collaboration with global publisher Elsevier, included 18 faculty members from the university among the top 2% of the world’s most influential scientists.
The list is considered one of the most prominent and widely recognized global metrics, relying on standardized bibliometric indicators to measure the citation impact of researchers worldwide using Scopus database entries. Key metrics evaluated include total citations, H-index, and a composite indicator accounting for co-authorship and author position.
The ranking features two categories: single-year impact (covering 2025) and career-long scientific impact.
Seventeen researchers from the university were included in the single-year impact category for 2025, and five were recognized in the career-long category, with four researchers appearing in both lists simultaneously.
The recognized scholars represent diverse scientific disciplines, including Artificial Intelligence and Image Processing, Education, Pharmacology and Pharmacy, Construction and Building Technology, Materials Science, and Networks and Telecommunications.
Leading the university’s featured scholars was Dean of Scientific Research Dr. Ahmad Samed Al-Adwan, who ranked 988th globally in the single-year impact list and 22nd worldwide within his specialized field.
On this occasion, Chairman of the Board of Directors Dr. Maher Al-Hourani stated: "At Al-Ahliyya Amman University, we believe that a university's true value is measured by what it contributes to human knowledge. Today, we see this belief acknowledged globally. Our investment in scientific research is an investment in Jordan's future and its rising generations, and we will continue to support our researchers to ensure they remain at the forefront globally."
President of the University Dr. Ahmad Hamdan remarked: "This achievement confirms that the academic environment at Al-Ahliyya Amman University provides fertile ground for excellence. The inclusion of 18 researchers from our institution in this prestigious list serves as an international endorsement of our faculty's quality and acts as a catalyst for us to pursue broader ambitions."
Dean of Scientific Research Dr. Ahmad Samed Al-Adwan added: "This achievement is the fruit of collective effort and dedicated work by researchers across various faculties. The Deanship of Scientific Research continues to focus on enhancing publication in high-impact journals, expanding international research partnerships, and supporting young researchers to extend the impact of our work to both local society and the global community."
