AMMAN — Arab Bank has renewed its cooperation agreement with the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) to support the "Back to School" program for the 2026–2027 academic year. The initiative aims to enable more than 400 pediatric cancer patients to continue their education while undergoing treatment.
This continued support builds upon a partnership that began in 2017, during which assistance has been provided to more than 3,300 students across various academic grades, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education.
Arab Bank's backing reflects its belief in the critical importance of providing educational opportunities for children and adolescents during treatment, helping instill a sense of achievement and normalcy, boosting confidence, and supporting psychological and social development.
The bank's contribution encompasses a range of educational initiatives tailored to patients' needs, including weekly tutoring sessions conducted by volunteer bank employees, the provision of stationery, school furniture, textbooks, and laptops, and the coverage of school expenses for pediatric patients.
Mrs. Nisreen Qatamish, Director General of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation, praised the ongoing collaboration, stating: "We deeply value our continuous partnership with Arab Bank and its steadfast support for the 'Back to School' program, which forms an essential component of the support system provided to children and youth during their treatment journey. Empowering students to pursue their education and maintain their academic and social ties boosts their self-confidence and motivates them during a stage that requires immense care and support."
The "Back to School" program is implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, with the King Hussein Cancer Center appointing teachers to conduct classes and supervise examinations on-site to ensure educational continuity alongside medical treatment.
