As part of its continuous efforts to empower young men and women and enhance their digital skills, Orange Jordan provided its sponsorship for the Amman AI Hackathon, organized by "Feker" in partnership with the global platform Replit. The hackathon brought together an elite group of young talents to develop innovative ideas with a positive impact, contributing to supporting the entrepreneurial ecosystem and driving digital economic growth in the Kingdom.
Over two consecutive days, the event brought together approximately 801 participants—including founders, engineers, students, and recent graduates—who competed in building AI-driven products and solutions using the Replit platform. Participants successfully developed 50 operational prototypes, keeping pace with rapid technological advancements.
Eng. Rana Al-Dababneh, Executive Director of Corporate Communications, Internal Communications, and Sustainability at Orange Jordan, expressed the significance of sponsoring the hackathon as a practical event focusing specifically on artificial intelligence and smart technology applications. The challenge featured two tracks: EdTech and the Future of Work, reflecting the company's goals of supporting both the educational and professional journeys while underscoring its steadfast commitment to providing new spaces and opportunities for entrepreneurship, thereby furthering its efforts to foster innovation and help shape the digital future.
For his part, Amer Naser Al-Din, Partner at Feker, emphasized that the company's objective through this hackathon was to transition youth from being mere consumers of AI to creators. Within just two days, participants transformed their ideas into real, viable products—a transformation envisioned for an entire generation in the region. He added that the partnership with Replit bridges the distance between idea and product, allowing every young person, whether engineer, student, or innovator, to build and launch their application without technical barriers. The Amman Hackathon served as the second stop in a series of AI hackathons that kicked off in Jeddah and will continue to Dubai and Riyadh to build a regional community of creators and entrepreneurs capable of competing globally. He also extended his gratitude to Orange Jordan for its belief in youth and support of this initiative.
At the conclusion of the hackathon, four winners received smart tablets provided by Orange Jordan, in addition to Replit platform credits, practical internship opportunities, incubator workspaces, and mentorship sessions to empower them to develop their ideas into viable, scalable projects.
