The Amman Chamber of Commerce has called on members of its General Assembly to review the preliminary voter lists for the 2026 elections of the Chamber’s Board of Directors and commercial sector representatives, which were published today, Wednesday, by the Independent Election Commission (IEC) as part of preparations for conducting commercial chamber board elections.
The Chamber clarified that the preliminary voter lists are available for review via the official website of the Independent Election Commission as well as at the Chamber's headquarters. It noted that the period for submitting objections against the lists spans three days, starting today, Wednesday, October 14, through Friday, October 16, 2026.
The Chamber indicated that any commercial enterprise whose name was omitted from the preliminary voter lists, or that identified an error in its registered data, or wishes to object to the registration of another enterprise within those lists, has the right to submit a written request to the Chamber’s Election Supervision Committee. This request must follow the form approved by the Independent Election Commission to add its name, correct its data, or lodge its objection, provided that supporting documents, data, and evidence proving the validity of the claim are attached to the application within the three-day period from October 14 to October 16, 2026.
The Chamber emphasized the importance of General Assembly members reviewing their data within the designated deadline to ensure accuracy and complete the necessary procedures to exercise their electoral rights.
It is worth noting that voting day for the elections of the boards of directors of commercial chambers and commercial sector representatives is scheduled for Saturday, December 5, 2026. In the event of a lack of legal quorum, the voting process will be postponed to Saturday, December 12, 2026.
The Chamber urged its members to monitor the announcements and instructions issued by the Independent Election Commission in its capacity as the authority tasked with supervising and managing the electoral process.
